At the end of the Mormon Trail

We've been following the western trails since Nebraska, one of which is the Mormon Trail, down whence Brother Brigham led the Latter Day Saints for sanctuary from religious persecution.  They settled between the Wasatch Range and the Great Salt Lake and basically built Utah.  The Temple and structures around it are beautiful, especially when frosted with a bit of snow.

And I confess I know very little about the religious aspects as opposed to the historical events surrounding the CoLDS, but did find these monuments outside the Temple interesting...

The drive from WY to SLC was much nicer than the day before, even though it was 12 degrees ... no wind = no wind chill!
