Vök Baths

Our first visit to a thermal bath in Vök was particularly challenging for me since it was immediately adjacent to a lake that has public Fishing access! But, there was more activity in the baths than on the lake that evening, so left the 5wt in the car and donned my new Iceland swim trunks!

38°-41°C pool was most appealing to me since you didn’t have to exit the warm water and cross a bridge in the cold wind AND it was where the swim-up bar was located!

Hidden at lake level under sod for insulating and environmental reasons.

Doesn’t suck…

Very user friendly accommodations and access!

Can see why the thermal baths, or swimming pools as locally referred, are so popular. Very relaxing.
But, not a swimming pool - some French girls corrected an American family whose small child was jumping in and splashing around. This is a relaxing spa, Not a public pool, they succinctly (and accurately) pointed out!

To preserve the pristine waters guests are required to take a full shower (sans suits) prior to entering the water!

Definitely got in touch with my European side.
