Salkantay Trek 3.2, Flora & Fauna

With more miles in the hotter part of the day ahead, we left the Salkantay River and got back on the trail. Plus, the steep ingress and egress access points influenced how much further we could travel in the stream bed…

Salkantay was always with us, but not easy to reach…

Jungle lantana…actually there were a number of species, similar but more vibrant and lush due to the wet environment, as found in SouTex!

Climbing calabasa!

Jungle tomatoes, on trees! Similar to romas.

Banana trees everywhere! Avocado too!

Coffee trees grow wild!
