Lassen Volcanic NP is in the Cascades in northern California. Scientist types can appreciate the fact that within its boundaries there are four types of volcanoes and every geothermal feature except for geysers. The last eruption was in 1915 and geologists continue to monitor the area. Since it lies on the Ring of Fire around the Pacific Ocean, it's only a matter of time, but that could still mean thousands of years.
Us non - scientific types enjoyed it very much.

How's this for a snow gauge? Average nearly 40' per year. |
