We hoped to find a parade or other ceremony along the way and did in Nephi, UT, where the local Lions Club went to great effort to convert an abandoned city park into a Veterans Memorial Park. Each monument has a line from the pledge and the names of over 2700 veterans from Juab County. There's also a rose garden whose bushes all bear patriotic names.
We visited with a Desert Storm vet between his school presentations before continuing our journey west.
Sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you who have served or still do whether war or peace, combat or none, volunteer or drafted. Your sacrifice is truly appreciated.
